Today I had the honor of going to Danielle's (sister-in-law) 20-week ultrasound appointment to find out what the heck she was having. Being the nursing student that I am,

By the sound of her reaction, the ultrasound tech was quite certain that her "boy diagnosis" was on target! Now it is time to hit the stores and start spoiling him........watch out Target, Babies-R-Us, Baby Gap, Old Navy.....

Spring 2009 Semester update

Sorry it has been a while (Kylie told me I need to update my blog!). We moved into the new house over Thanksgiving, and I STILL have stuff in boxes! I cannot wait to have time to paint, decorate, and remodel the house. Thanks to nursing school and lack of money, that will have to wait!

Nursing school is going ok - just SUPER busy. I am doing my Pediatric clinical rotation at Texas Children's Hospital, awhich is where I hope to work after I graduate, hopefully in the Neonatal ICU (**fingers crossed**).

Bill is headed to advanced S.W.A.T. training in 5 days and will be gone for a week. I will miss him, but it will give me a week to really focus on school. I am so proud of him, and he has been my main source of strength throughout this year in nursing school. After I graduate, its his turn to hit the books as he plans to work on his Bachelor's degree.

I tell everyone I need an extra day in the week from now until the end of the semester just to get everything done. I can't complain, though. I am grateful that I am almost done, and in this short year, I have developed friendships with the most amazing girls. There is no doubt that God placed them in my life for a reason. Erica's wedding is nearing (August), and we all celebrated at her house in late January. Here is all of us.....me and my nursing school "peeps"!

Christmas Break

The Christmas break has certainly taken some stress out of my life until nursing school starts back up mid-January. Bill and I hosted Christmas in our new home, and it was a lot of fun. We had about 30-40 family members in and out of the house all day. I have not seen my handsome daddy for a few months, so it was great to get to see him (picture below). People say we look freakishly alike. Given my daddy's handsome good-looks, I take that as a compliment!

It was chaotic, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Each year, our family does Chinese Christmas, and boy, can it get ugly! However, this year, there was not as much aggression as only one or two gifts were stolen. It would not be Christmas for me without my Starbucks giftcard (which I did get!)

I was so happy that Santa gave me the first item on my Christmas list.....a gas powered leaf blower. Yep.....call me a dude, but I love that kind of stuff. Bill and I got a gift certificate to Home Depot, and Bill picked out this beauty for us. Not only is it a leaf blower, but it is also a shredder and vacuum! Sweet! Can't wait to go outside to"play" with it.....I think Bill and I are going to fight over it.

Boot Camp.....opps, I mean Nursing School Update........

Wow~
Summer semester flew by. To think.....I am STILL in shock that I even got into nursing school even though we are more than 1/3 of the way done!

This fall, I will be taking Adult Healthcare II, Gerontology, Psyc / Mental Health and OB (obstetrics). I am currently doing my clinical rotation at St. Luke's in The Medical Center, and I am very excited that I was placed at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital for my OB clinical rotation. Watch out babies.....

Ok, so I have a few friends who have started blogging, and it seems to be a great way to keep in touch with family and friends. So, here it starts......
